Neurosurgery/Cell and Developmental Biology
Research Interests:
Develop novel therapies for the malignant brain tumors based on depletion of cancer stem like cells.

Internal Medicine/Human Genetics
Research Interests:

Cancer genetics, gastrointestinal cancer, oncogenes, tumor suppressor genes, beta-catenin, Wnt signaling, developmental biology, CDX2, E-cadherin.

Neurology
Research Interests:

The role of growth factors in the pathogenesis and treatment of neurologic disorders.

Pathology
Research Interests:
DNA Repair and Genomic Stability in Mammals. We study how DNA repair prevents cancer, controls development of the immune system, and ensures proper overall mammalian development.

DEI Statement:
Our laboratory fosters collaboration, communication, and involvement of each lab members without distinctions relative to level of training or origin. It is the expectation that everyone participates in the lab's life to the extent they can and it is recognized that everyone has a different perspective that adds value to the discussion. Through my role in recruitment committees and course and training program director, I am particularly sensitive to the philosophy of holistic review process.
